Kurt and I had a chance to explore Marfa, Texas today on our whirlwind tour of Texas. As of now, this is one of the coolest places I've ever visited.

This is an art exhibit that has it's own foundation. It's amazing.
Out here in the middle of the desert? It's just so cool.

Art, we soon found out, is a big deal in Marfa. And since Kurt and I have some ambitions to get into the art world, this place blew us away. Art seeps into every pore of the area.

I mean... C'mon. There are scenes like this literally ALL OVER. Almost like the town was set up for dreamers and photographers like Kurt and I.

Scenes like this are just... everywhere. Just point your camera and click - it's easy to find stories.

Even the town's EXCELLENT burrito place was filled with an artistic vibe.

And the landscape just outside the city has a certain feel to it. There's a touch of weirdness in the air - probably from the possibility of seeing the world-famous Marfa Lights.

I heard someone say people come here for soul quests. Searchers seem welcome here.
They won't find answers though.
Because beneath the surface... something weird lurks:

And that totally fits the vibe here.
This is a place for artists... for rebels.

America needs more places like Marfa right now.

I doubt if they love the random photographers like Kurt and I wandering through their streets all the time... but you'd never know it. Everyone is great to talk with!

(We barely scratched the surface of the beauty to be found in Marfa, and the interesting people who live here. We'll be back.)

I can't wait.
