I had a serious case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and happened to wander into a camera shop to buy a Panasonic G9II. At first, I wasn't sure why I bought it... but then I figured out how to make it make sense.
With the 90mm f/3.5 Macro from Om-System, the G9II can be an incredible macro system.
So I grabbed some agates, used a light behind them to shine through, and shot these with a tripod using the Panasonic's High Resolution Mode.
That means each of these images are 100 megapixels, which allows enlargements to be the size of a wall with stunning clarity and definition.

The closer to the agates I was able to go, the more I was transported to new worlds.

Are these lost sand dunes, hidden within rocks?

The way the light shines through these agates is fantastic.
