THE STUFF OF THE UNIVERSE

There was a "blizzard" last night in Omaha.

This is the view from inside my house.
At this moment I was warm and considering staying inside.
But then I said "TO HELL WITH WARMTH" and headed outside.
My first shot from the porch with the X100vi and the flash. Truly awesome:

Light and chaos and grain - the stuff of the universe is in these.

These are exactly how I envisioned them. Gritty and gnarly. Lots of weird color.
Playing with white balance in-camera, while also playing with flash strength and shutter speeds? PURE CHAOS.

I think the neighbors know I'm crazy.
Good.

I only spent about 20 minutes outside, yet these are some of my favorite images I've taken in a while.
Probably because they aren't perfect -
probably because they contain truths about myself I don't understand.
